Experience:

Andrew has been practicing psychotherapy and counselling for more than 18 years. He performed as a clinical supervisor for several mental health and substance use programs in Vancouver. He treats adult and youth clients who experience various mental health difficulties, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, psychosis, self-harm, suicidal ideation, trauma, eating disorders, difficult emotional and behavioural dysregulation, and borderline personality. 


Andrew has great passion to provide couple counselling and marriage therapy to clients who struggle with couple relationship and communication, and he nurtures healthy love, bonding, connection, and attachment when working with these clients. 


Furthermore, Andrew also treats professionals who experience low self-esteem, stress, and challenges regarding work, life, transition, and interpersonal relationships. 


Andrew has been a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) therapist, skills trainer, supervisor, and consultant. Andrew has provided numerous DBT training workshops to train mental health professionals and helped them learn and apply DBT. He has developed and led standard and adapted DBT treatment teams in the public system.


Training:

Andrew has received various DBT trainings since 2009. In 2017, he completed a DBT mentor training that was designed to create a team of advanced DBT supervisors and consultant who would provide ongoing DBT mentorship within the public system. In addition to DBT, Andrew uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, DBT-Prolonged Exposure Protocol (DBT-PE), mindfulness-based approach, metacognitive approach, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Client-Directed Outcome-Informed Therapy (CDOI) to treat and support clients and their family members.

 

Interests:

Andrew enjoys photography, travelling, gourmet food, and learning history and cultures. He has a very close and lovely family relationship. He is humorous.

 

Services:

Andrew provides mental health counselling and therapy to adults and youth. He practices individual therapy, marriage therapy and couple counselling, and family session. Also, he is inclusive and experienced in supporting all folks, including those with neurodiversity.
